Yes, there is space in the SLP world to celebrate hard work. Being dedicated and striving for your on personal level of “how good can I make this? is a GOOD THING.
We model this for our clients. We put in that effort. We show up and help and it feels good.
Until- maybe it doesn’t
When hard work mutates into constant overworking, never ending to-do lists, and you can’t humanly keep up, that’s when it starts to take a turn from a positive quality to a soul crushing habit.
And unfortunately it’s become a collective habit in our field.
But transformation starts with YOU- my love ❤️
As SLPs, we need to create a low pressure schedule that is flexible, sustainable, and rewarding.

Here’s how I do this…
- ✍️ Do a dump of all your to do’s… get them out of your brain and on to paper.
- 🤔 Ask yourself, “Why am I doing these things on my list?”
- ❌ Take the things off that don’t have a purpose that serves you right now.
- ⏰ Decide how much time each will take (this part will take some experimentation and information gathering).
- 🗓 Put it in your schedule, not your list. If it doesn’t fit- you don’t do it. (I said what I said)
- ♻️ Make it repetitive so you can set it and forget it.
Repeat and tweak as you go
AND AS ALWAYS
You are a human so remember to prioritize rest and being kind to yourself.
If you struggle with this… the next round of Stop Dreading Mondays starts in January.
One of the first things we do is an supported audit of how your time is currently being spent (it sounds terrible😂, but it’s not bad, we do it in a gentle way).
Then we see if there is anything you can hack, simplify, organize…
see what needs to be cut out completely – we have a clear process for making those decisions.
see where you need to set a boundary for yourself,
oh yeah and open up waaaaayyy more time to rest and goofing-off.
You’ll learn how to find 10 more hours in your weeks, prioritize the things you actually want in your life, take better care of yourself, and crush the roadblocks that have caused you to lose energy for the career you once so loved.
Love,
Angie
